Tarvisio weather KO’s 2nd women’s training run

TARVISIO, Italy — A combination of fog, low visibility and snowfall have forced the cancellation of the second downhill training session for this weekend's women's World Cup races.

The opening training session was held Wednesday, although the course was shortened for the session. That means the downhill race Saturday also might be shortened.

The racing begins Friday with a super-combined and ends Sunday with a super-G.
Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn led the opening training session. She trails German rival Maria Riesch by 196 points in the overall standings with only two more World Cup stops after this weekend.
