Swiss Olympic SBX bronze medallist Nobs retires
BERN, Switzerland — Olympic snowboardcross bronze medallist Olivia Nobs has retired from competition on the eve of a new season because she lacks funding.
The 28-year-old Swiss racer, who also won silver at the 2009 World Championships, says she hasn't found the money to keep competing at the elite level.
The World Cup season starts Dec. 7 at Lech-am-Arlberg, Austria, and moves to North America, South Korea and across Europe. The next World Championships will be held in January at La Molina, Spain.
Nobs won bronze at the Vancouver Olympics in a race won by Canada's Maelle Ricker. S-Magazine
