LA PLAGNE, France — Canada’s Sarah Burke swept both of Sunday’s World Cup freestyle halfpipe events.

American Torin Yater-Wallace, at just 16 years old, topped the men’s halfpipe skiing podium in the first of two World Cup halfpipe competitions Sunday in La Plagne. Also landing on the podium for the U.S. was Devin Logan with two seconds in the women's contests and David Wise second and third in the men's.

Logan led the U.S. women, finishing second in both competitions behind Canada's Burke. Kevin Rolland of France was the men’s winner in the evening competition.

Yater-Wallace led the U.S. charge topping an impressive field with many of the skiers coming over from the European X Games in nearby Tignes earlier this week. The X Games medallist won the first of two events Sunday.

David Wise skied his way onto both podiums, finishing third in the morning and second at night under the lights.

Joss Christensen and Wing Tai Barrymore competed in the first World Cup contest, finishing sixth and 13th respectively. Penn Lukens placed 10th in the second event.

Sunday was the final day of freestyle World Cup competition for the 2011 season.
