Radio-Canada broadcast slate kicks off Saturday from Lake Louise

Radio-Canada's coverage of alpine ski racing gets under way this weekend offering French-language viewers across Canada live coverage of the Bombardier Lake Louise Winterstart downhill race on www.Radio-Canada.ca beginning Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Radio-Canada Sport will have a total eight hours of World Cup coverage from Lake Louise on multiple platforms over the next two weekends for the men's and women's speed events.

World Cup coverage for French-language viewers across Canada kicks off live Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET on the Internet at www.Radio-Canada.ca with coverage of the men's downhill race.

Michel Chabot will host SRC's live World Cup coverage alongside Canadian Alpine Ski Team alum Peter Duncan, the predominant voice of Radio-Canada's alpine skiing coverage for several years.

"There is a great pool of French-speaking skiing fans in this country, and Radio-Canada's commitment to ski racing enables ACA to reach that core audience and expand our fan base. Increasing the profile of our sport in this new Olympic cycle remains one of our priorities, and SRC helps our team and help our partners get our message out to a wider audience," said Alpine Canada Alpin President Max Gartner.

SRC will be broadcasting a total of 27 World Cup races over the season on its different platforms. Among the races broadcasted will be the famous Kitzbühel downhill event, plus the season-ending World Cup Finals at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
