Prefontaine rules Nor-Am GS at Ajax
ASPEN, Colorado — Canadian Marie-Pier Prefontaine dominated the field Thursday to win a Nor-Am giant slalom at Ajax Mountain.
After finishing second Wednesday, Prefontaine was fastest in both runs Thursday, finishing with a combined time of 1 minute, 59.13 seconds for her fourth career Nor-Am GS win.
Slovenia's Ana Drev was second in 2:01.22 and Switzerland’s Nadja Vogel (2:01.59) third.
Eve Routhier placed sixth, Kate Ryley eighth, Erin Mielzynski 14th, Elli Terwiel 15th, Megan Ryley 16th and Jennifer Saunders 18th.
In Wednesday's GS won by USA's Megan McJames, Prefontaine was runner-up, with a trio of Canadians — Routhier, Madison Irwin and Kate Ryley — taking eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
