Motorcycle, ski racing unite: Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada teams with S-Media for online auction

Notwithstanding Canadian winters, Deeley Harley-Davidson® Canada continues to embrace racing to recognize its rich history in motorcycle racing. While making use of the winter months to fine-tune details of the long-awaited new Harley-Davidson® XR1200 Cup Series, Deeley Harley-Davidson® Canada is again supporting the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, particularly the men’s “Canadian Cowboys” team.

Darren James, racer No. 29 and racing manager for Deeley Harley-Davidson® Canada, sees a strong affinity between the two disciplines. “The similarities between competing in alpine skiing events and motorcycle racing are many,” said the professional racer and avid skier. But mainly the state of mind, the determination, discipline and physical preparation it takes to compete in both of these sports at a professional level is what they have in common.”

The 2011 project will consist  of an online auction of a custom-painted Extreme Measures Harley-Davidson VRSC™ V-Rod Muscle®, featuring the stylized and iconic logo of the Canadian Cowboys. Following its first appearance at the Rockstar Ski Cross Grand Prix (part of the FIS Freestyle World Cup) hosted at Blue Mountain, Ontario, on Feb. 11, this unique Harley-Davidson VRSC™ V-Rod Muscle®, which embodies performance without sacrificing style, will be showcased at various private and public clubs in Collingwood, Ontario, for the duration of the auction, now through April 1.  
                                  
All monies raised through the online auction housed on www.snowsportsculture.com will directly go in support of the Canadian Cowboys team.
