Ex-moguls standout Tanner spearheads new CFSA moguls video
No doubt, Canada’s incredible success in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and this year’s FIS World Championships has stimulated a throng of burgeoning moguls skiers across the country who dream of being the next Bilodeau or Heil. And Saturday, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association introduced a new tool in its arsenal to help them get there.
Canadian Mogul Skiing is a video aimed to inspire the next generation of moguls skiers and give them the basic skills to move up to the next level.
It was the brainchild of former national moguls team member Warren Tanner, who worked with current and former members of the team and their coaches to create a dynamic, current and practical moguls skills video.
Tanner believes his own success was due, in part, to reviewing tips from the pros.
“When I was a kid I would watch mogul videos over and over all summer long. Those videos are outdated now, so I wanted to give kids the next generation of mogul video and I wanted to use their heroes, like Olympic champion Alex Bilodeau, to teach them proper technique,” said Tanner.
“Incredibly, after watching videos in the summer and fall, I would come back in the winter and have actually improved my mogul skiing. That’s what I hope this video will do for aspiring kids out there now.”
The CFSA appreciates support from Canada Post and RBC that boosted production of the video.
