FREESTYLE:
Canadian Selections moguls showdown at Val St. Côme this weekend
Check out the next generation of Canadian mogul contenders live on webcast. The Canadian Selection event in Val St. Côme, Quebec, on Dec. 18 and 19 will be aired on www.webmedias.tv.
Qualifications are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET each day, finals at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Provincial mogul team members from across the country along with their C-level national team counterparts will be competing in the first Canadian Selections, and the first official event from the new Marble Mogul Course at the Val St. Come Freestyle Training Centre in the Lanaudière region.
The Canadian Selections event in Val St. Côme is the first stop on the newly created Canada Post Mogul Cup Tour. Other stops include the Canadian Series West event at Apex Mountain on Jan. 15-16; the Canadian Series East event in Beaver Valley, Ont., on March 15-18; the Canada Post Junior National Championships at Marmot Basin, Alta., on March 10-13; and the Canada Post National Championships at Val St. Côme on March 25-27.
Competitors who take part in Canada Post Mogul Cup Tour events will earn points for their placing in each eligible event. Points earned from their best four placings (of nine possible mogul and dual mogul competitions) this season will count toward the cup. Provincial organizations can use these rankings in the selection of provincial team athletes, and the CFSA will use the rankings for junior talent identification camps planned for summer 2011.
