Brown scores Nor-Am podium at Mount Garceau
Canada’s Philip Brown skied to third place Thursday in a men’s Nor-Am giant slalom at Mount Garceau, Quebec. American Will Gregoriak won the race in a two-run time of 1 minute, 47.72 seconds, with Norway’s Andreas Haug second and Brown third at 1:48.36.
Ryan Semple was sixth, Erik Read eighth and David Donaldson 11th for Canada.
At Sunday River, Maine, American Mikaela Shiffrin stayed red-hot, winning the slalom in 1:43.68, ahead of teammates Kiley Stapes and Megan McJames.
Just off the podium in fourth was Canadian Madison McLeish, with four Canadians — Megan Ryley, Madison Irwin, Marie-Pier Prefontaine and Stephanie Irwin — occupying spots six through nine.
The tour shifts to Aspen, Colo., for speed races and a super-combi in February. S-Magazine
