2011 Championships: Revy set to rock with festivities and freeskiing

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — With just under two weeks to go until the world’s best big-mountain skiers arrive in Revelstoke for the Canadian Freeskiing Championships, the excitement is building. Online registration for this year’s event sold out in 90 seconds, beating last year’s record of nine minutes — proof that the Revelstoke event is the most sought-after event of the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour.

Fans can join in the action by watching at Revelstoke Mountain Resort or live online at www.revelstokemountainresort.com, or join in one of the awesome Community Events taking place now through Jan. 10.

Ask any competitor from the 2010 event and they’ll tell you how amazed they were by the warm welcome they received. “Walking down the street, we felt like celebrities!” said one wide-eyed athlete. “People were genuinely thrilled to have us here, it was amazing.”

In addition to preferred accommodation rates, special promotions and in-store discounts for competitors, the list of local businesses that have joined on to sponsor the Community Events surrounding the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour have been growing by the day.
