CBC race coverage kicks off with Lake Louise, Aspen action
CBC Sports is bringing live ski racing to Canadians in 2009-2010, including comprehensive coverage of the next two weekend's of the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup presented by Bombardier.
The GMC Alpine Ski Series on CBC kicks things off Saturday live at noon ET on CBC Television and CBCSports.ca with live coverage of the first run from the women’s giant slalom from Aspen, Colorado, followed at 1:30 p.m. ET by coverage of the men's Bombardier Lake Louise Winterstart Downhill. The second run of the women’s giant slalom from Aspen airs at 3 p.m. ET.
CBC Sports will carry more than 10 hours of World Cup coverage from Lake Louise on multiple platforms over the next two weekends for the men's and women’s speed events.

CBC's coverage includes races from around the globe all season, including the men's downhill race at Kitzbühel, Austria, on Jan. 23, 2010.

CBCSports.ca will provide live streaming coverage of all of CBC's GMC Alpine Ski Series events starting with Lake Louise, while CBC's digital channel bold will provide more than 35 hours of coverage throughout the 2009-10 season. Gemini Award-winner Scott Russell will host the GMC Alpine Ski Series on CBC alongside veteran play-by-play broadcaster Steve Armitage. Kerrin Lee-Gartner, Canada's first-ever Olympic downhill gold medallist, and Todd Brooker will complement the coverage with insight and analysis.
