Cook, Dawson earns Nor-Am podiums at Aspen
ASPEN, Colorado — Dustin Cook of Lac Sainte Marie, Que., found the podium in Monday’s Nor-Am Cup super-G, finishing second in Aspen, Colorado.
Cook, who settled for seventh in Sunday’s SG, which was also part of a super-combined, finished today in one minute 17.76 seconds. He was just .02 from the victory, which went to American Chris Frank.
Will Gregorak of the USA was third, just 0.14 behind the winner.
Downhill races are scheduled to get under way Thursday.
Sunday, Canadian men's development team skier Travis Dawson of Calgary finished second in the Nor-Am super-combined. Dawson, came from 11th after the opening super-G run, finishing with a great slalom run for a two-run combined time of 2:06.85.
American Tim Jitloff won the race by just under a second, with teammate Miles Fink-Debray in third.
Fink-Debray won the super-G in 1:20.39. Benjamin Thomsen of Invermere, B.C., was the top Canadian in fourth. SRC
