Ski halfpipe takes next step toward Olympic inclusion
The Canadian Freestyle Ski Association is excited to report that the FIS Congress, meeting in Turkey, voted June 4 to approve French and U.S. proposals recommending to the International Olympic Committee the inclusion of ski halfpipe to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games program.

Ridewood thrives as the man behind the freestyle lens
Mike Ridewood’s freestyle career began 15 years ago, but not as a skier. Ridewood is the first to admit that his skiing skills are “almost non-existent.” But that has never stopped him from perching himself along some of the steepest moguls courses in the world to get coveted shots of Canadian athletes in action.

In her successful career as a freestyle aerialist, Deidra Dionne has faced numerous hurdles. Now, at the age of 27, Dionne finds herself facing another life hurdle — this time a benign brain tumor on her right temporal lobe. It is a non-life-threatening growth, but one that is career ending for Dionne.

The Canadian Freestyle Ski Association has announced its schedule for the 2010 Canada Post Freestyle Grand Prix at Ski Mont Gabriel. The event will consist of an aerials World Cup on Jan. 30.
